Is it really the first treatment or just one person's experience? In Canada, if a soldier seeks help for PTSD, the first "treatment" doctors offer now is death. Canada's ever expanding list of who qualifies for Doctor Murder (euthanasia, or MAID) includes healthy people who are physically disabled or mentally ill. Age is down to 12 years old, plus infants to about 2 years.
I've seen this mentioned a fair bit but have never looked into it- it seems really f***ed up.
Is that seriously Canada's policy? Mention PTSD and get put down like a pet, no counseling or anything else? I have a hard time believing there isn't a subtlety/nuance/untruth here.
