ATF FTB Answers Lots of Questions

Letters only apply to the specific individual asking the question has been stated in the past by the ATF. A letter from another erosion does not mean you will not be prosecuted, just less likely. They have also given out letter letters that conflict with older letters.

All of the questions were hypotheticals anyways, none of them were based on actual submitted examples, so they're not even binding for the person who wrote the letter. However, the answers are interesting and informative as to how the ATF may classify certain designs if there were actually implemented.

I thought the Atkins accelerator issue was that they changed the design afterwards, so that what the ATF approved was not what they went to market with.
