Poor kids :( so much for guns being illegal there. I wonder if any were from "Fast and Furious"

At least nine U.S. citizens, including six children, were killed in a massacre in the Mexican border state of Sonora Monday, a relative to many of the victims told NBC News.
The dead included 8-month-old twins, said the family member, Kendra Lee Miller. Some of the eight survivors, all of whom are children, sustained serious injuries. Miller said a 9-month-old child was shot in the chest and a 4-year-old was shot in the back.

The attack was described by local media as a highway ambush. Willie Jessop, who is related to one victim, told NBC News by phone from Utah that the attack occurred on a motorcade consisting of several families, and that survivors at the scene told him that three cars were shot at and one was set on fire.

Why would anyone want to go to that crap hole country? I wonder if the families were SJWs trying to prove something.

My son goes to Mexico regularly for work. He left yesterday afternoon for a two day trip down there. When he's there, he's escorted everywhere by security.

My wife and I just came back from a week in Mexico, (came home Sunday night). I've never been there before. We did our due diligence, including checking the dept of state web site and talking to people who have traveled there, including our son.

If you look at a map, it's a very large country, and indeed portions of it are third world - that I have no desire to visit. I'd no sooner go there, than go into Detroit. However, my wife and I visited a tourist region in the state of Quintana Roo, south of Cancun. And we had an absolutely fantastic vacation.

This wasn't about "connecting with local culture", this was about spending time with my wife in a luxury resort - that happened to be located in Mexico. The facilities were fabulous, the people were gracious - I've never had a better vacation. We're already planning on going back.

I wonder if they were on an anti-drug mission. Preaching against the cartel’s products. Seems like a reasonable hypothesis.

Osram Sylvania opened a plant there. The big wigs got tired of being robed leaving the airport every time so they hired police to escort them. They held them up. As Yaakov would say, "What a country."

I remember when Romney was running there was a brief documentary that came out about Mormons, some his family members, that had moved to Mexico many years ago for more religious freedoms. Several of the family members talked about having some issues with the cartels. Wonder if this was a similar situation

“Everyone is in so much shock," Jessop said, adding that he has been in contact with Mexican federal officials and with the FBI. "It's just unbelievable and there's just no way to comprehend it."

It's unbelievable that they would travel there and put themselves and their families at such risk. Yup, "there's just no way to comprehend it".
Don't they have a local zoo with deadly animals that they can walk into a cage with? Any survivors should be jailed for reckless endangerment!

I'm curious where you heard this. I've been down to that plant a dozen times and have never had any issues in Apodaca or in Monterrey. That being said, I'm not naive enough to think that everything is peachy down there. I'd never take my wife and kids with me on a trip there.

We have a legitimately dangerous 3rd world shithole just over the border and half the country wants to let them all in.

But then they'll be Americans, Just Like Us. They'll invent things and pay taxes and take care of us when we're old. Problem solved.

I remember speaking to one of my law enforcement patients about the criminal mindset. Criminals don't live in the same world as us. They have no remorse for the elderly, handicapped, or children. Once they've decided to carry out an attack, they will fulfill until complete (ex: holding onto purse when being mugged). Yes, these dirtbags are mexican, but this mentality can happen anywhere.

Lighting center management, one year after closing Sylvan St. and shipping their lines down there. I think around 97- 98.

As in Chicago? Jack.

I just got a very cheap offer of a week in Mexico at a beautiful resort from a friend who has a timeshare. I passed on the offer, my wife and I have no desire to spend time or money there.

There are much nicer places to visit that we are dying to see.[wink]

Nine Americans dead several still accounted for! Do what ever it takes to bring justice to these f***ers! Close the border completely!
Law enforcement in Mexico is Mexico’s problem and their jurisdiction, not ours. The last thing we need is to get drawn into yet another failed state.
