Assabet National Wildlife Refuge (Hudson-Stow MA)

OK, I’ve been in there 5 times, various areas. Dont hear any turkeys, none respond to calls. Anyone have any luck in this place?

I've lived in central MA for 25 years and I never knew there was a Federal refuge in Hudson/Stow.

It’s no big secret. Great place and you can see the ammo storage bunkers where the US stored WWII ammo. Need to get their permit to hunt there.

There are fish in the Atlantic Ocean. Dammit!! Was that supposed to be a secret???

(Complete aside: Was watching an old WGBH documentary on Quabbin - how there are only a few areas with interesting bottom features that support any sort of fish life. The rest of the reservoir is devoid of anything. Just an FYI if going to the Quabbin.)

The main problem with Assabet is that there are so many people there no matter when you go.
