He does have something to lose: if gun owners collectively take up the issue in the mid-term election and work diligently to punish him for these anti-gun measures, his lame-duck situation could worsen if he further loses support from the House and the Senate.

I'm no historian but it seems that Obama's war on the 2nd amendment is having the opposite effect, more people are being licensed and from a business standpoint, manufacturers of firearms and ammunition are making boat loads of money. That said , the Presidents policies are making it tough on all of us when it comes to buying ammunition and firearms.
The sooner he leaves office the better off we will be.

Don't bet on it. The next guy will probably be worse. The absolute BEST a politician in the White House will do is NOTHING when it comes to guns. When was the last time a president over turned a gun law?

We will never have a true friend in the Oval Office.
