The Daily Collegian

Excerpt: "Gun rights activists, and in Massachusetts even gun owners, bear an unfortunate and negative stigma that often leads to the dismissal of their views and experiences of having any value. When one mentions they are pro-gun, believe in the Second Amendment, or own guns in the Northeast, they are often classified negatively as a “gun-nut.” These “gun-nuts” are assumed to be camouflage wearing, right -wing, anti-government racists. On Jan. 19 at least 1,000 of these “gun-nuts,” congregated in front of the State House to stand up for their rights and beliefs. In doing so, they proved that the stereotype as is perpetuated by the media could not be farther from the truth."

A good article about what went down that day, and very RKBA friendly. Michael Ball did a good job! The comments are worth responding to.

Very well written! I went to UMass and I know Mike, he was actually present during my safety course. UMass is a major libdem hippie hugfest hub. One time in a class I mentioned something negative about democrats and another student, who automatically assumed that I was a republican, got up and moved to another seat further from me. Professors have been known to push the liberal agenda too. The amount of ignorance in a major academic institution really is astounding. Anyways, I'll prepare a post for the article comment section when I get home. I've got a lot to say and the sources to back it up.

Holy shit the commenters are ****ing loons. Are they so stupid as to not understand their retarded arguments apply to free speech, Jim Crow, etc? "Oh well the majority of people don't support free speech so no free speech...oh and the majority hates blacks so **** them they don't get rights." What a load of bull.

PP now has a new additional definition: "Preaching Pussies".

I wonder what they would say if I suggest we ban alcohol seeing as it is a toxin and has no healthy positive. Not to mention alcohol kills more people than guns and also ruins peoples live. Hell you should have to have a Class A license to posses high prof booze because that stuff will get you drunk faster! No bottles should be sold bigger than 1oz!

On the comments: Children that think they are adults... it's fun to watch the metrosexuals wring their hands and obsess over a piece of formed metal. Every time they do that I see their balls shrink another centimeter in diameter. How pathetic is it to be afraid of a piece of metal? Do these people have any spine? Are they so desperately afraid of themselves that they want to remove any temptation by forcing you to be as afraid as they are? Pathetic tiny people.

According to them they are "civilized" and we're backward Neanderthals

Good article. Being an employee of UMass Amherst I can say there is at least one Dept that is well armed and has several grad students hooked.

This is why I don't talk politics with anyone at UMass, because it makes my head hurt. I read Mike's article in the Collegian and I thought it was very well written, and it represented gun owners very well.

That was an excellent article and the responses to the few "unenlightened anti-self defense" posters showed class, patience and a solid understanding of history and firearm facts. It is appalling that a poster would be so ignorant of the events that led up to the Revolutionary War.
Excellent publication and follow through!
Best regards.

It's hit or miss with them. They tend to "edit things for grammar" which is weird cause they usually screw it up. They also have some inability to run the articles with the pictures you provide them. They also jacked the links up.

I'm thinking of the next one being "Why I will keep my AR15." I need to balance out all the socialism ones.

Mike
