Arrest in Lawrence

Oddly enough no OUI.

eta: For inkdesigner. If you want to pop a cop you shoot him early on. According to Facebook this guy went for his gun after he was tackled. Much too late.

I'm surprised the cops didn't do some "batting practice" on him, don't they carry Billy Clubs anymore ???

target practice would have been a preferable method. real life expansion experiments.

Post on the State Police facebook page:

Lawrence sounds lovely.

Those troopers showed amazing restraint especially after the first tazer did not help and the perp was going for their weapon.. I kept waiting for the article to say "With the inability to restrain the individual who clearly had a gun, and after he tried to obtain one fo the Troopers guns, Trooper "A" was forced to open fire.

They potentially face that crap every day they walk out the door.. I have much respect for them.

So what exactly was he trying to do when he reached for the Trooper's holstered firearm??

I don't think he initially planned on shooting the Trooper. I bet he thought he could talk his way out of it and it was only after they attempted to pat him down that he realized things were going south for him and that's when he resorted to violence, with the intention of shooting them coming after it became abundantly clear after they tackled and attempted to restrain him that they weren't going to let him go.

Maybe he misunderstood what was happening and thought the nice Trooper really only wanted hugs and a reach around? [rofl]

Six months tops and he'll be right back out and at it again.
He's exactly what the libs want out on the streets.
Dead cops or convenience store owners mean more gun control pushes.

Shitbag is lucky he wasn't in NH. All you have to do, or be accused of doing is make a "gun gesture" with your hand, to be shot....or shot at. New iteration to the "throwdown" when you don't HAVE a throwdown.[grin]

??

Similar sh*t like that happens in all 350 cities and towns of Massachusetts... and in other states too .... believe it or not.
Just not as often. My town has something like this happen almost never, and when we do have problems it's generally not home grown.

There is the case of the swat guy accidentally shooting the guy in the head in the wrong apartment bust, but ma police do seem to do a better than average job of not shooting first and asking questions later.

Really? I was unaware this was a regular issue in the other 349 towns. Care to start a list?

Sure I will. Lawrence, Lowell, Lynn, Chelsea, Roxbury/Dot/Mattapan, Brockton, Springfield, New Bedford, Fawl Rivah, Worcester...

Granted, Lawrence isnt the only dump in MA, but to say it happens everywhere is ridiculous.

Really ?

.....point us to a town/city with zero crime, so that we can dis-mantle the police force in said town.

Blaming the city "Lawrence", for the actions of an individual is OK ?

Support that attitude the next time some liberal/politician blames GUNS instead of the perpetrator.

Career criminal fighting cops, grabbing at their guns, reaching for his gun, etc. does not happen in every town in MA. It doesnt happen in 85% of the towns in MA. Is it a shock that it happened in Lawrence? Hell no.

eta- ZEO calls for "source!!1!" of 85% "stat" in 3...2...1...

Yeah, Lawrence totally has the same crime rate as Weston [rolleyes]

I'm lucky that I'm 200 yards from Andover and it's quiet in my neighborhood. Yes Lawrence does have a couple good neighborhoods.
My house will be paid off in 10 years and will I go North? No idea

Your post did not mention ZERO crime. Your post was in reference to Lawrence and the place is a shit hole or did you not get that part. Maybe there are better places in the city but good luck removing the reputation. Thank God for threat level 3 holsters or the outcome might have been much different. In case you haven't noticed this was not a first for the perp nor was it a sole incident in the city.

Now you post thinking it's OK to remove a working police department that WORKS proactively on preventing or limiting crime in the first place.

Please step away from the crack pipe.

Apparently you don't understand what you read, I'm not surprise tho.

Projecting whats going on in your life/household ?

Must be your writing style. Clearly others read your post the same as I did.

Why don't you take the time to explain it (your post as written) for the members.

How about just please stop trying to defend Lawrence, there really is no defense for it. Yes every single town has crime but if you're telling me to choose a house for free in Boxford or Lawrence where would you go?

Wasn't it Lawrence recently that the Governor of NH declared so bad that they were stepping in to stop the flow of drugs and criminals headed north from that city? Just like that list that another member posted all of those shitholes are the DIRECT result of socialistic, criminalian, liberal *uckery.

Do you recall when Mayor of Lawrence was denying that drugs come from Lawrence to Maine and NH? Well, he was wrong!

On Merrimack Street, a young man handed a small bag of white powder to an older woman. They didn’t even try to hide it.
“We’ve spent $780,000 to fix up 22 parks,” Rivera said. “We’ve got needles in every one of them.”
On West Street, where workers are still rebuilding the park, a few young men, their faces tanned but left lifeless by drugs, eyed us warily and headed to the rear of the park.
Manny Baez runs an auto repair shop next to the park.
“I’ve seen 25, 30 cars with New Hampshire plates drive by today,” Baez said.
The drivers were looking for heroin, Baez said.
“This neighborhood matters,” Rivera said, pointing to a successful charter school a little further down West Street. “That school sends 100 percent of its graduates onto college. Some of those kids walk to school every day and see this stuff.”
