I suggest you read 5.2.3

If anyone had the decency to stop laughing long enough to take a closer look at my "uniform", they would have noticed that my yukata does have belt loops. And they were employed by my gunbelt to keep the rig from falling past my ever so petite bum. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

[rofl]

TTFN,
"Point Blank" Frank

Thought I wouldn't look it up eh, Gary??? [laugh2]

Maybe not. It's close to a dress [rofl] Whether appropriate or not, I won't judge. BUT, I thought a Yukata was Japanese?

This looks like a great time, but kind of intimidating for a newer pistol shooter. What is the best way to get started in this? If there is another thread on that, please paste it. I don't want to hijack this awesomeness.

You'll need a pistol (preferably full size, G17, M&P9, Beretta 92, etc.) in a caliber 9mm or greater. You'll also need at least 4 magazines, a holster, magazine carriers, and a sturdy belt. You should be familiar with your pistol - know how to load, unload, clear basic malfunctions, etc.

Peruse the rulebook, paying special attention to Chapters 5 and 8. http://www.uspsa.org/rules/2010HandgunRulesProof3web.pdf

Show up to a local match and let the nice folks at the registration area know that you are new to USPSA. They'll hook you up with someone who can walk you through how everything works. You can find a list of upcoming matches here: USPSA: Northeast Section: 2013 Matches

There's also a practice at Harvard Sportsmen's Club on Wednesday evenings from 5-7 or so.

PM me if you have any other questions.

In addition to what Michael and Peter pointed you to I'll add one thing... Do not let these videos intimidate you, everyone who shoots action pistol started somewhere. We were all newbies at some point. Nobody will care how slow your are as long as you are safe! Most people will bend over backwards to help you get started. I will warn you though, this sport is highly addicting!
