Are there any junior rifle leagues around?

My son got his first rifle for Christmas. We take him to the range, but I am looking for a junior league around here. Is there anything like that?

If you have any trouble finding one, contact Jon Green at GOAL. He's been doing a great job bringing the youth leagues back and even building a Camp Perry team. If anyone knows a good program in your area, it's him.

Jen, go to the list of GOAL-affiliated clubs on the GOAL website and query EVERY ONE of them near you. The clubs that I've belonged to did NOT require that the parents be members in order for their kids to participate in the Juniors programs.

I'm sure that you'll find something near you.

MRA's junior program is incredible. I spent many years in it. It was well worth the hour drive to and from every Monday night.

Great program, but much too far away for Jen to be carting kids every week. That much travel every week gets old fast.

That's why I did NOT recommend my "home club" to her. Better that she find someplace local that they can get to quickly even in bad weather. I'm sure that there are good programs down her way.
