AR lower....

In Massachusetts can I order a complete AR lower, with a collapsible stock and pin it before I buy an upper?? Just want to make sure the stock is legal as long as no upper is present......

Yes.

While the lower receiver is considered to be a firearm under federal law, Massachusetts uses a different definition according to which only relatively complete guns capable of firing are regulated. Until you have an barreled upper and a lower, either one is little different from a can opener under Mass law.
