Can some one show me a cheap way to build a AR15? Midway has a stainless steel DPMS full upper on it's web site for $399. I have no clue if it's a good deal or not.
Nothing fancy just a basic Ar 15 that's trouble free, to use every once in a while at the Braintree range. I doubt that I would shoot more than 300 rounds a year.
Is that a complete upper? Including bolt carrier, bolt and charging handle?
That does sound like a good price, a decent barrel set (bbl, front sight tower, bbl nut), alone costs over $200.00.
Building your own AR may or may not be cheaper than buying a complete (used), rifle. It'll really depend on what kind of bargains you can find on
all the parts.
If you really want to keep your build as inexpensive as possible, prowl the Equipment Exchange board at AR15.com.
