Working on a first build,
Most of the pieces have been bought.

Just wanted to list them out and see what I'm missing.

I've been doing alot of reading and watching video's, asking questions at the range.
But i still feel like i am clueless.
Cant wait to get all the parts together in the next couple months and start.
Everything has been slow to trickle in.

If you notice anything out of place or a piece i have not yet thought of yell at me.

So far what I've purchased:

If you are near east Bridgewater. I have the tools, vice, and the fixture to true the face of your upper receiver.

I appreciate the offer.
I dont know much on truing/squaring the upper.
From what i have read there are lots of mixed opinions.
On one side : Lapping an AR receiver is totally unnecessary. The bolt, once locked into the barrel extension is not influenced in any way by the receiver that is doing nothing more than covering the carrier.
On the other: The issue isn't so much what the bolt is doing in the extension, but how an uneven receiver face can negatively affect the barrel and potentially barrel harmonics.

I've spoken with builders who say it isn't necessary, and spoken with builders who feel it is beneficial.

Pin that muzzle brake before you attach the upper to the lower. Make sure it measures 16". Otherwise you have an unregistered NFA weapon. Not trying to be preachy, but would rather assume you didn't know this than assume you did. Good luck with the build. Now slap it together and Fire that thing!

Will do. Thanks [smile]
Just a few more pieces still on there way, then i can start...
I'll have to pin my stock too.

Lapping the receiver is debateable issue. I do it because I figure it can't hurt.

It seems many would agree judging from what I've read so far.
I would like to do anything extra that would help me build the best rifle possible.
Definitely looking into it and asking lots of questions, thanks widnerkj.
