The Prostaff 5 line is new/different from their regular "Prostaff" line. More up-level for sure.

Anticipating what optic I'd like to put on my upcoming AR308 (or is it .308AR?) build.

It'll have the upper from a Sig 716. 16.5" bbl with piston-driven operating system.

I have an M-223 on my AR-15, and really like the BDC reticle. I also have a Vortex StrikeFire red/green dot sight too. I was looking for something that combines the best of all worlds, and was initially looking at the Leupold VX-R line-up, e.g.:

http://www.leupold.com/tactical/scopes/vx-r-patrol/vx-r-patrol-3-9x40mm-30mm/

But the Nikon has the BDC reticle that I know and like, as well as a bigger zoom range.

I'm not finding much by way of 'reviews' for any of the new Prostaff 5 scopes. Anyone got one, and care to comment?

I was going to put this question in the 'equipment' forum, but it seems lightly traveled.

Mods - pls move as appropriate.

I went with a Leupold vx-1 or 2, can't remember, for my 308. Has 4-12 magnification. Can't really go wrongs with a Leupold, but I've also heard good things about NIKON recently
