I just close up the house early (like before sundown) and it stays comfortable all night.

No heat on, windows open. Slept great. Put some flannel on and I was nice and toasty.

I put a few sticks in the stove to take the chill off while we eat then just let it burn out.

Ran the pellet stove this weekend to take the chill out of the house. Wanted to test run anyway. Halfway through September, and already running heat. Going to be a cold winter I think.

turn the heat on?!?! I was sleeping with the windows open this weekend. I LOVE this time of year when the air changes.

I'll admit though, I did have to get up in the middle of the night and partially close one of the windows.

I turned it on for 20 minutes to make sure everything fired up. I will turn it on officially when the temperature in the house gets near 55. The wife might literately kill me in my sleep if I keep the heat off past that.

As LB said on the radio this morning, the flip flops get put away once the snow starts flying!

No way, and I'll keep it off as long as I can, which won't be long since my wife stays at home with the kids [sad] My house is insulated pretty well, even with windows cracked on both floors it didn't drop below 69-70 inside this morning.

I dread the heating season, watching the oil level drop and getting the bills for filling up. Maybe I'll get around to installing a wood stove this year.

No, but I did enable the HEAT function on the digital thermos. I don't expect them to power on until sometime early October. At which time we'll start lighting afternoon/evening fires in the wood stove.

LOL. I hope it isn't a cold one like last year. That 4 inches of snow was damn inconvenient for the 12 hrs. until it all melted. [laugh]

Nope. Put some clothes on and close the windows. Do not touch the thermostat. Spoon your wife really good. It will warm you up. I did........[wink]

If it's cold, I turn the heat on. If it's hot, I turn the AC on.

Turned it on last week and it worked.. Not cold enough to need it yet., if I get cold I have no problem turning it on or firing up the wood stove. I have gas heat and feel for you oil burners.

Yup, still got the AC running here as well. It's 108 outside as I'm typing this.
