I know most of you already live in a socialist utopia and have the MA Health Connector, but any other real Americans try using Healthcare.gov yet?

I went from FTE to contractor this year, and my current plan goes EOL Jan 1 (Thanks Oblahblah)... trying to line up the new year but the site is broken. Security questions don't work in either browser. The .gov has had 5 years to put a simple website together and failed.... as expected.

Right now I'm in AZ. Own my own biz but haven't been able to afford traditional health insurance so I picked up a discount policy. It's not regular insurance, just discounts off costs. I haven't called to find out if this counts for any kind of coverage under the new gov.junk we have to deal with.

I'm happy with an HSA friendly HDHP... I'd be happy to keep what we just got but since its a state-specific non-profit Obamacare kills it and we need to change plans. I fully expect S to HTF with new signups, so I attempted to get ahead tonight but the website doesn't work. Fantastic.

I'm not sure where you're going but I just tried it and it worked fine. If you're in MA, it directs you to use https://www.mahealthconnector.info/portal/site/connector

I've been buying my own insurance thru this site for a few years now and my premium actually went down about 1% this year. $316/mo for a bronze plan with low co-pays and good prescription benefits, etc.

I'm in America, not MA. So it doesn't redirect.

It fails to load security questions, in multiple browsers, and therefore cannot continue registration.

wtf are you talking about security questions? There aren't any. On the first page you click the big APPLY NOW green button.

On the next page it asks you to choose your state and then you press the green button to go to your state's health connector.

Where are you seeing security questions?

ok just tried it for NH and on the 3rd registration page they have those 'what was the name of your first pet' type questions you need to choose from and supply your own answer to. Is that where it craps out?

I checked out Medicaid (reluctantly) in AZ to see what I should do in case my medical discount plan won't work for the gov.junk Interesting to find out that as of 2011, no new single adults with no children can't apply at all here. Now, I'm not a supporter of State funded wellfare programs (or Fed programs) but I did find this very interesting!

To be fair they did only have just under four years to make the site work since it was passed at then end of 2009...

Exactly. Wait until people who work get a load of the "affordable" care act's prices. The premiums are high and the out of cost expenses will blow people away. The bronze plans are ridiculously expensive forget the silver, gold, etc.

This is what happens when you force insurance plans to include all kinds of "free" things. So birth control is "free", yearly exams are "free". Nothing in life is free for those who work.

This POS is here until at least 2017 when bozo is gone for good. Wait until the unions get taxed 40% for their "Cadillac" health plans. They are flipping out already about it.

good for you. but being forced to pay $316/month for something I WILL NOT USE and CANNOT AFFORD is robbery.

You obviously make too much money and it needs to be redistributed.

How much do you currently pay if you don't mind telling? Is that a family plan? If so how many on the plan (Wife and two kids?)? It would make for a good comparison to know what you current plan costs compared to the same one through the government.

By the way you phrased it, Obamacare is more (expected) but how much more would be interesting to know.

Went direct to Assurant and Anthem's websites for quotes... those are working fine. Prices on HDHP's are about the same... putting both the wife and I on a "platinum" seems to be a few hundo more than before.

I can give you mine as a comparison:

I just renewed my plan, I own my own business, and the other employee is also an owner.

We buy 2 family plans (each family 2 adults 2 kids, we are middle to late 40"s) with BCBS, we have a high deductible plan. ($2900 per individual / $5800 per family max)

I get an annual physical, and an eye exam every 2 years that are not subject to the deductible.

Renewal premium is $1139.79/mo X 2, this represents an increase of 3.5% over last year.

It truly is a bad joke.
Currently my portion of my employer provided insurance, which is a PPO, is $6363.00 per year for me + spouse
On the Health Connector the same insurance company with similar deductibles but it's an HMO would cost me $16,872.00 for me + spouse...........[shocked]
Ya, that's affordable!

Through work I pay $12000 less per year and that for a family of 4 with no deductible and $20 co pay so that would be a Gold Obamacare plan.

responding to a question about a website for use by non-ma residents, as a MA resident who doesn't use said site, makes you sound like a tool.

Our company is offering 2 plans. The first plan is a typical PPO, and the rates will be the same as we are currently paying. The second plan will be less expensive. We have to review what each plan covers, and choose accordingly.
