Anyone see this before? 20ga black powder paper hull

I found a few of these weird 20ga paper shells. I pulled one apart. Its made up of black powder, thin paper wad, cotton ball then projectile is 16 pellets and what looks like corn grinds as buffer wrapped in paper and shoved in. Ive never seen anything like it.

Yes before the days of smokeless. It's more of a specialty now but I remember 20 years ago seeing black powder loaded hulls geared towards the Damascus steel barreled shotties.

Old timer at our club used to shoot black powder loads for trap.

Not sure if cowboy action guys use black powder shotgun ammo but I know they use it in pistols
 
Yes I have used some in my old shotgun with a Damascus barrel,and yes they still use them in cowboy shoots because some of them still use some vintage guns.Just remember if your going to use them, black powder is corrosive.
