P. S. Just in case you think this is the most stupid idea for a law,
I think this other one beats it by a mile.

What if you labeled it" Not a secret compartment " ?What? Secret compartment law? Lol.
Edit: I did a search on this.
I f*cking hate MA. The stuff these people come up with.

News to me,
unless you're thinking of that French Connection rocker panel production still
that I posted in some random thread (skoolie conversion? LOL)
Been doing that for many years. Got a small safe woth cable at tractor supply for $19.99. Works well and covers me as far as mass law. That's overkill. It's far more than I have. Though I'm not sure if I can tell what I'm looking at.
I just cable it to a seat stanchion and call it good.
Leaving a gun in a vehicle and simply locking the doors is not proper storage in mass. Using a small safe cable locked to the seat rail is...among some other solutions.I thought (in mass) locking your guns in your car was "not legal storage" ....screw it Im keeping the handgun on me. If I cant bring it where im going.....im going home
But nope, see below.if you could find a vent grille cover that fit and attach it to the door front it would look like a heat/ac vent taking all suspicion off it from the casual glance.
So far it's mostly the topics I've actually read, LOL.I was relying on your index of NES topics lol
Note that I've become jaded. Because I've read more than one breathlessA while back someone posted an article where the fuzz had busted a guy over a vehicle that had a manufacturer installed "secret compartment". That's everything I remember about the thread except that it worked a lively discussion about rights.
I figured if anyone could find it with those leads it would be you!
re phrase: I thought we where only allowed to transport our guns in our cars in mass. once you leave the guns in the car and you get out you are no longer transporting and you can not store your guns in your car.?Leaving a gun in a vehicle and simply locking the doors is not proper storage in mass. I use a Pelican case with a steel bicycle cable going around a significant portion of the chassis. It would take a chop saw to get into that.
Here's what you're probably thinking of:I thought we where only allowed to transport our guns in our cars in mass. once you leave the guns in the car and you get out you are no longer transporting and you can not store your guns in your car.?
Eh , mass laws a saint in one sentence a criminal in the next?

This "ground every dangling wire" method of searching a passenger compartment
is so predictable that you could use it to trigger an easter egg in the event that
you get cuffed, stuffed, and searched on the side of the interstate.
Don't install a solenoid-latched compartment door.
Either hook the wire up to a siren firework,
or make the solenoid trigger one of these:
After the wire gets grounded, hilarity will ensue.
May be worth putting Scotchguard on your upholstery.
That will cut down on the cost of getting the seat detailed
after the trooper is startled.
I remember that this happened to a guy and the car on blocks was in his garage! Here's what you're probably thinking of:
If you try and store gunz in a car,
it'll be treated as transportation -
at least if treating it as transportion is worse for you.
At the very least, the car could be up on blocks with no wheels or engine,
and you'll still get jacked up for "improper transportation"
if the car contains a gun secured with a trigger lock.
DUDE, have I got a healing electronic kit for you.I wonder if a chirpng led countdown timer with like 10 seconds and end with buzzer, would get a laugh or stacked felony charges
OMG, I couldn't even sidle between the passenger side of my car and the garage wallI remember that this happened to a guy and the car on blocks was in his garage!
DUDE, have I got a healing electronic kit for you.
I present you with...the Velleman Kitchen Timer:
You could probably rig it to count down from 60 seconds
from the passenger door's dome light switch.
I got mine at You Blew It in Needham.
OMG, I couldn't even sidle between the passenger side of my car and the garage wall
to jack up the front right corner!
It does that if you don't cancel the alarm within a few seconds.I have sufficient electronic components to build some scary looking timer device. Even rig a secondary trigger to speed up the countdown just like in the movies.
It does that if you don't cancel the alarm within a few seconds.
That's in the video within a minute or two of where I cued it up.
Scared the hell out of the cleaning lady, whose idea of cleaning something
is to fondle it and hit all the buttons while giving it a wipedown.
She'd clean the microwave keypad, it would beep,
and I'd ask her, "what's for lunch?".
The Impossible Mission Force would just lift his fingerprint off of the steering wheelthe issue is, of course, that someone steeling the car would have all the time in the world to get into your "safe"
