Edible ?I believe it is in the bolete family.
I will check my book. I believe ask are edible but not all taste good. Some also will upset some people's stomachs. What color is the bottom of the cap and does it bruise when you push on it? If it gets ink cookie black ink colored is a no go....i know that much.Edible ?
Red is radRed is dead.........
unless amanita muscaria....then red is like what does red even mean man, like I can taste the universe you know?Red is dead.........
Much too difficult to try to identify using those photos. Also agree identifying from photos online is not accurate.
Forgot to quote you.
Will second the edit. AI apps for plants are also not accurate. Always double check. There are very few truly toxic fungi in the Bolete family. “If it’s red and bruises blue stay away” is somewhat of a myth as many of those varieties are “good” tasting and as in every case any wild mushroom should be cooked and maybe should be cooked for a very long time. Stay away from the Rubroboletus family.
The Bolete family has been going through some serious taxonomic revision with at least 43 families within the Bolete genus.
What you have there is Baorangia bicolor or Lanmoa pallidorosea. Both are “good” edibles which may give gastric upset issues for some. The Lanmoa may smell like beef bullion.
I’m eating a “Candy Apple Bolete” tnite that I collected today.

Lanmaoa pallidorosea (“Bouillon Bolete”)
Think “muddled bicolor.” Firm, yellow flesh often smells like beef bouillon & stem flesh may slowly stain green from the base up and/or stem skin in.boletes.wpamushroomclub.org
Baorangia bicolor (“Bicolor Bolete”)
Red cap fades w/age. Shallow, bright yellow pores may bruise blue, esp. when mature. Red-and-yellow stem. Red bug holes in yellow stem flesh.boletes.wpamushroomclub.org
ETA: do not trust the AI mushroom ID apps as they are prone to failure.
