Anyone hunting yet in MA?

He did. He told me that the stocked WMAs are usually stocked 3 times
a week. The weekends are supposed to be pretty crazy with guys, guns
and dogs aplenty. During the week it's pretty quiet and re-stocked.
He suggested bringing a dog, or, failing that, a lackey to send into the
brushy fields to chase the birds out. This will be my first year trying for
Pheasand and I'm pretty psyched.

Westboro and Bolton seem to be really popular with the pheasant hunters. Just got to watch out on the weekends with the lead rain. People don't seem to care where they shoot.

In Bolton, I have found that most of the birds are chased into the tree line and into the field in front of you if you're parking in the RT 117 lot or they are chased up to where the two river meet at the north border in Harvard.

Westboro, I've seen birds get chased up to the WMA admin building in the no shooting zone. You'll need someone to scare them back down. There are also a ton of cottontails scampering about in the bush.

I've found crashed RC planes in both WMAs. I guess people lose plenty of them in the bushes.

Weekdays are far safer.

Handgun hunting of squirrel is allowed in this Zone, if you want a real challlenge.

A .22 Ruger or Browning Buckmark is perfect for this.

I'm VERY surprised nobody has brought up the new .17HMR or .17 mach2 yet.
