anyone else? "View posts since last visit"

That is OK for one forum, but not across all forums. Try the link at the main forum page and you'll see what I mean.

Yeah... I belong to other forums that have a view new posts button, however in this forum I prefer simply picking and choosing what sections to go in when they are lit up telling me there is new posts in there...

It's really not that big of a hassle

No, it is not a hassle. But if it could be EVEN MORE convenient, why not?

Isn't that what computers do, make rote tasks easier and faster?

I just use the one on the main page and shift+left click to open the ones I want in a new window.

That is also what I do, but sometimes when I get an email notice that there is a reply to a message (like I got to get here), I go to the message, and that link would be convenient to have at the top of this page to go right there from here.

Thanks for letting me clear that up.

Somewhat OT,

All you guys using the "back" button are living in the 80s. Install Firefox and open all of the subjects/discussions in separate tabs. It takes seconds. You can even create a bookmarks folder and open ALL of the bookmarked pages simultaneously.

Never go "back" again. A few tabs stay open for the main branches of the forum tree and you open and close tabs on the individual discussions from there.

As to the View Posts Since Last Visit. I didn't know it was there until mentioned, so I don't have a burning desire to see it expanded. I can see how it would make sense to have a more specific version for each particular forum.

I just go to the main screen which shows all the new posts since my last visit. I then go in to each section and read the new ones...course, I'm a Mod and have to check them all out, but it's also what I did before becoming a Mod, so it doesn't matter to me. FWIW...

No no no. You're getting me all wrong. I don't want a specific one for each forum. I want the generalized one on each specific forum. That way, if I'm in the laws forum from an emailed link, I can see EVERYTHING NEW ON THE SITE since I was last there.

Doesn't anyone else see the benefit to this? I must not have been making myself clear enough.

Thanks.

For those of us that mod,it wouldn't make much of a difference anyways. [wink] When you decide to put a board together you can make it anyway you want. I personally don't see a need for it. :D :D

Oh, well, I don't think I need that, since I just use tabs to keep track of everything. Sorry. Switch to Firefox; it's cool and hip and will make the internet more fun.
