Anyone applied for a LTC-A in Waltham recently

Submitted app on Jan. 23
Interview and prints on Feb. 26
Was told 4-6 weeks for license.
Still waiting.
The interview was easy. Maybe 30 minutes.

Submitted my app in late Feb, got my interview within 10 days. Interview is trivial, but the vast majority of LTC's will be restricted no matter what you write or say - Waltham is very much a red town.

Was told 8-10 weeks for license... but the bigger issue is the essentially inevitable restrictions.

More information on that below.

Interview and prints February 26. Called FRB says pending local PD approval. I'm not quite sure what that means but I continue to wait.

Got mine in Waltham close to a year ago now. Took about two months for me to get my license. Officer Modica was the guy who interviewed me, seemed like a good guy, interview was really straight forward. I wasn't able to get an unrestricted class A because, and this is from what I remember what Modica had told me, no one in Waltham gets an unrestricted class A right off the bat. They use the the 6 year period as a probationary period, and when you go to renew your license if you've been a "good boy" (his words not mine) they will issue you an unrestricted access right away....

But anyway, good luck to your GF!!!

Oh, Talking about Waltham, What is the status of the police chief?

Just like you'd expect:

His criminal case got delayed

Waltham police chief?s criminal case postponed again - Waltham, Massachusetts - Wicked Local Waltham

So he'll be getting at least a year of paid leave - yipee.

But wait, it gets better (for him):

Waltham Police Chief Received Large Bonus While on Leave - Waltham, MA Patch

The City of Waltham proudly reports that business continues as usual.

P. S. If you think one year of paid leave is bad, check out Bridgeport, CT:

Paid leave over for deputy police chief - Connecticut Post
