Any significance to these grips?

Long story short, this Luger is my dad’s. It is the only one he and I have ever seen with that swastika in the center of the grip. Does anybody know anything about that marking? Is it original to the gun or aftermarket?

Thanks,
Dave

any chance it was a war bring back/ trophy ?

Can you date it by a SN?

There is not one picture of grips like that anywhere on Google.

That includes WW2 war bring backs with accompanying paperwork from 1945

Personally I'd replace them original or not

you should go to lugerforums.com ive never seen a swastika like that on a P08. the grips look orgiginal but that swastika 'button' ive never seen before. could be post-war or even photoshop maybe? have more pictures of the markings?

Original grips will have the gun S/N engraved inside the grip. So removing them and checking will answer that. Don't know about the insert however.
