I hate to use the term "resolution" because it is so hackneyed and overused. But has anyone decided to embark on any new course or make any changes in your life during this coming year?

The closest I have come is deciding to learn Tai Chi in an effort to get over some lingering effects of illness and old age. I purchased a self-study guide at Barnes & Noble titled Simply Tai Chi. I used to do jiu jitsu but had to quit. I figure that Tai Chi would be a good way back into the martial arts.

This is my self-improvement goal for this year.

I set a few goals this year.

1. To be all I can at my full time job even If I do get shit on here and there.

2. Pay off all my bills exept car. I'm getting there.

3. Get engaged to my girlfriend.

4. Be a better shot.

I used to study jiu jitsu but never found a dojo for it after I moved up here to MA. Really liked it, too.

As for resolutions... I'm going to try and find a certificate program in network operations, I think. With Cisco hammering away at the VOIP thing, the rest of the market is going that way... even if the customers don't necessarily want VOIP. [roll] But not being particularly stupid, I can see that a telecom geek will need a good knowledge of IP in the future.

It won't matter....there's very few resolutions that I've made that I've actually stuck to for longer than 10 minutes.

Although...I will say this...as soon as I've got the money, I'm buying a new gun!!!! (those I seem to be able to keep :D )

My resolutions for 2006:

1) Find the cure for cancer
2) invent the AIDS vaccine
3) Buy more guns

I figure if I keep at least 1 of my resolutions then I'm doing better than most people who don't keep any... And thinking big never hurt anyone.

SR, if you're like me at all, the third one is a "slam dunk".
