I have allways wanted to learn how to play Banjo and I am going to take some lesson's as time and money allows. anyone here play? (Interested in Bluegrass)

I love bluegrass and banjo. My wife bought me a banjo many years ago before we got married. I never learned to play it and it sits in it's case in the closet, brand new/never played.

JonJ Interested in selling/trading a gun for it?? :D
Or we need to start a banjo players group and all get off our butts and learn!

My tells me to sell it all the time. I just never bothered...Ya never know, maybe we could work a deal [wink]

Don't know if I can either ! I guess I will be finding out. I do have to get an electronic tuner due to hearing damage. (drives Sue nuts when I screw with the Cheap Guitar I got in Mexico)

Sounds like we could almost start a band here. [lol] [lol] [twisted]

I'm in, Lynne quick grab the Tamborine, I got a buddy that plays a mean saw.

I got two of them! And a couple Bodhrans too. :D I'm ready!

BTW - Wildweasel - my "X" used to play the guitar and I bought him a banjo (25+ years ago) - he picked it up pretty quick. So, from what I understand - if you can play the guitar, you can play the banjo....don't know if you play the guitar tho. [lol]

When we went to Mexico last winter Glenn picked up a guitar to try and learn how to play. He just need to take some lessons. [lol] [wink]

Well the guitar thing got put on hold due to the shoulder surgury, I am just now back to the point I can think about lessons.
Probley take a few on the guitar first since I have it allready.

I had a double keyboard Baldwin organ given to me a year or so ago and am teaching myself how to play it, somewhat successfully but with a lot of practice...I'm a long way from a recital date though.

I do, however, play the radio very well !

Many, many moons ago I used to do Olde Time Fiddle contests with a friend of mine, and her Dad would play the guitar for us. Had alot fun doing that

If you want a good time, you have to go to the National Old Time Fiddlers Contest in Weiser Idaho in June.

I went a few years ago - got an old army buddy who lives in Weiser. It was an absolutely great time. People from all over the country come there, many camp out and play fiddles and banjos around the campfires. The whole area is packed with RV's, the school yards, parking lots, public parks are all knocking out music nearly 24/7.

You've never heard such music, and it's everywhere for a whole week ! Grand masters right down to little kids who put most adults to shame.

I guarentee you to have the most foot stompingest time that you could imagine.

HIGHLY reccommended ! I gotta go again - soon !

Check out the website and play some of the music.

Went there many many moons ago. I had a great time doing them. Maybe I'll start practicing again. [lol] Nickle I don't know what I could say to Adam. [twisted] [wink]
