DENVER - A gunman opened fire inside a sprawling a Safeway Inc. warehouse Sunday, killing one person and wounding five others — two critically — before he was killed by police.

Several fires also were set inside the distribution center a few miles northeast of downtown along busy Interstate 70, authorities said. The fires, which engulfed merchandise inside the warehouse including paper products, were out by Sunday night.

More than 150 employees were forced to evacuate, Police Chief Gerry Whitman said, and dozens of officers were called in to seal off the building.........................

I don't have to worry about someone coming in my work place and murdering people. It says right in our handbook, "no firearms". [rolleyes]

Isn't that a relief?? That'll surely keep guns out. [/sarcasm] [rolleyes]

We have the same "no gun" policy....and i feell oh so much better with the crack teen-age security force the company employs. Well, the have really nice uniforms...blue balzers and slacks and well, no weapons to speak of. I'm sure they can defend us if something were to occur.

First Rule of Concealed Carry - NOBODY KNOWS.

Exactly, when I worked for Ames we had that same policy, but when I worked overnights, and also because Ames was dumb enough to have managers take large deposits to the bank, I figured what they didn't know wouldn't hurt.[wink] They didn't ask I didn't tell.[grin]

That would be great if my boss didn't illegally pat me down when I wore my conceal shirts. [rolleyes]

Thunderwear, ankle carry, pocket carry, belly band, I even saw an inside thigh carry.

Maybe not the best options, but they are options...

I'm close to the door. If I hear or see anything the sheeple will have to fend for themselves, I can run fast.

Are they also banning matches and lighters?

My second job out of College was with Digital Products Inc in Waltham and about 3 years after I started and the comapny had grown, they decided to pass a "No Weapon" policy.

I had just accepted an offer with Banyan Systems and when the HR director did the exit interview one question asked was why I was leaving, I told her with a straight face that since I had been trained in Kung Fu, the new "weapon policy" forbid me to carry myself into the office.

Her reaction was priceless. I don't think they believed me at all, but it was a lot of fun.

Banyan did have a No Weapon policy, but I know a lot of shooters that worked there that brought their gun cases right into their office.

My last job, I had joined the company when it was small (I was employee 10) and over the next five years it was bought twice. Each time they sent around the "Policy Contract" to sign. Never did. Since the parent company was in California both times, the follow-up was next to nothing. So, I wasn't bound by the 'agreement'. Perhaps you've heard of the current parent company. Auto-by-Tel. Of course, we were assured that there would be no "Expense Synergies". Must be some kind of CEO speak for "I'll lie my ass off to make profit".

Was so glad to get out of there. And, I wasn't bound by any non-compete or other crap. Woo Hoo!!!!
