Another blizzard

I just saw on the news that South Plymouth is gonna get the livin' tar beat out of it with easily a foot or more accumulation, a little more than what was originally thought.
JonJ..........Keep a protective eye out for the good folks down Wall Pond way in case I get lodged in a snow bank on my way down there.

Oh........the forecast for Scituate for Saturday night is lows in the upper 50s and raining hot water.........

Ya great! That is part of my area. I'll be stuck like everyone else or have those stupid chains on!
Hopefully everyone will keep their furnace vents clear.

Has the Channel 7 Stormforce officially declared the looming extinction of all humankind from this impending storm yet?

Anyone know the best round for defending against Mutant Snow Yeti Zombies? Or is that Mutant Snow Zombie Yetis?

Guess I better go stock up on canned goods, cause if the power goes out I'll have no way to keep all the stuff in the freezer cold ... You know with all that snow piled up on the back porch, and the freezin temperatures outside and all. [wink]

Zombies?

Don't know which round is best but I've got at least a thousand rounds (each) of .22lr, .30-06, 7.62.39 and 7.62x54r available.

If I run out of those, I'll try .303 and then .45-70 and see what happens.

I'll let you know which works best for zombie head shots.

No, no, no...it's all in the MAPP gas ballons...or flame throwers. It's snow people that we're worried about.

And here's the latest from NOAA

...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

THE LATEST FORECAST INFORMATION CONTINUES TO INDICATE AN INCREASE LIKELIHOOD THAT A POWERFUL WINTER STORM WILL AFFECT THE REGION FROM LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON OR EVENING THROUGH MIDDAY SUNDAY WITH NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS POSSIBLE DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM.

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO REACH THE SOUTH COAST LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING. IT SHOULD SPREAD NORTH INTO THE MASS PIKE REGION DURING SATURDAY EVENING...AND THEN REACH SOUTHWEST NEW HAMPSHIRE AROUND MIDNIGHT.

THE HEAVIEST SNOW SHOULD FALL LATE SATURDAY NIGHT INTO MIDDAY SUNDAY. IT IS VERY POSSIBLE THAT SNOWFALL RATES WILL REACH 3 INCHES PER HOUR AT TIMES ALONG WITH A FEW RUMBLES OF THUNDER NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION. GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS MAY CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WITH POOR VISIBILITY.

NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE IN THE HARTFORD... WORCESTER...BOSTON AND PROVIDENCE AREAS DURING THE HEIGHT OF THIS STORM.

BY THE TIME THE SNOW TAPERS OFF SUNDAY AFTERNOON...TOTAL SNOWFALL SHOULD AVERAGE 8 TO 14 INCHES. THE HIGHEST TOTALS ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR FROM THE HILLS OF NORTHEAST CONNECTICUT TO THE INTERSTATE 95 CORRIDOR BETWEEN PROVIDENCE...BOSTON AND THE NEW HAMPSHIRE BORDER.

SOMEWHAT LOWER TOTALS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED ON NANTUCKET AND THE OUTER PORTION OF CAPE COD...WHERE RAIN MAY MIX IN FOR A TIME SUNDAY MORNING.

THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS WINTER STORM. TRAVEL MAY BE SERIOUSLY IMPACTED BY THE COMBINATION OF POOR VISIBILITY AND SLIPPERY ROADS. PLAN TO HAVE TRAVEL COMPLETED BY LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

That thar 14 inches is out in my neck of the woods. I see the sled coming out Saturday night.

You surely don't need a repeat of last year's tragedy........
Ya, I wouldn't mind if my career finishes without another one of those....

Looks like I'll break out my AK with the 75 rd drum in case of looters. That'll stay in the front seat. The AK along with the M4 and I should be all set [twisted]

What!? No handgun for close quarters? No shotgun so you can just shoot and not have to aim? No .22 in case you get stranded and have to hunt small game to survive?

I think you need to revise your plan my friend! :D

The S&W .40 will be on my side and as for the .22, the M4 will fit that bill. Maybe I'll pull an 870 for insurance.

So will you be bringing along 2 or 3 thousand rounds?

Great for traction!

Damn, and I was planning on spending my B'day at BR&P ranges, NOT shoveling/snow-blowing!!

It isn't a blizzard unless you have sustained winds of at least 35 mph, and less than 1/4 mile visibility for 3 consecutive hours..

No matter how you cut it, it's still gonna be a pile of sh*t to contend with. I was hoping we'd get through the rest of the season without any such "festivities". I was enjoying the break.

Crap, you should know that it's been nice so far, that we're due to get clobbered in the next month or two...that or it's now going to suck until late April.

I'll believe it when I go out and play in the snow in my 4Runner (with real snow tires).

But lately it seems that the weather guys keep yelling "wolf" about snow storms that turn into nothing...

I hear ya...

I got a new Dodge Ram this past summer, and I've only had to use the 4WD a couple of times!
