SWMBO and I were looking for a dessert wine for a friend (for a Christmas present), and after finding out that the winery in question won't ship to MA, she came out with "This state sucks"!

New Hampshire is looking more likely... [wink]

"... the winery in question won't ship to MA."

The winery in question is missing legal sales. The legislature just passed a law expressly permitting internet wine sales, did it not?

So why is buying AMMO out-of-state illegal? :x

Because in buying wine, there's a chance you could become an alcoholic. Now, if you become an alcoholic, you'll provide the state with numerous driving offenses that they can fine you for, and then, once you get sober (probably thru MA Health because you'll most likely wind up losing your job and on aide), you'll become dependent on the state and viola, another democratic vote. Course, that doesn't happen with all recovering alcoholics - most of them understand the term "personal responsibility", but the state keeps hoping.

(yes, I'm being sarcastic)

Last night on the news they were talking about this, and you can thank our wonderful AG for this, he won't let anyone ship wine to MA. It was on WGGB can 40 news.

Well, the wine seller shouldn't worry. The SCOUS ruled that wine sales over the internet ARE legal and wineries CAN NOT be sued by a state AG as it will hamper interstate trade, which is regulated by the Feds.

And what is the difference with ammo sales? [roll]

Rest easy everyone, RINO Romney vetoed the bill, so NOBODY will be able to legally ship wine into MA. Do a Google to find out why . . . his reasoning is "precious"! [roll]

Romney is starting to sound scarier than even the worst Dems!

SCOTUS did NOT rule the ban on interstate sales of wine illegal, they set some parameters and the states have to agree to shipments or not. MA is one of the "NOT" states.
