Found a decent deal on this old Winchester 94. 1949 production. 32 Winchester Special. It’s in good shape mechanically as far as I can determine. The stock has lost a fair bit of the original varnish but no cracks or gouges. Most of the original bluing is intact and no real rust. The bore is bright and shiny.

After quickly taking care of a screw that was backing out of the receiver I found it to shoot very nicely. This is 50 yards, offhand.

My dad shot his first deer with an identical gun, I expect when he gets to shoot it this gun will put a smile on his face.

nice. i use to have a pre 64 '94 in 32winsp. iirc a 1956 vintage. found it at clines (or klines) gun room back in the day and as typical of the venue...paid thru the nose, and ass, for it. although it was in mint, cherry condition but no box, i still overpaid. i hunted with it for years around new england. hope dad enjoys the rifle!

Gun appears to have been carried a lot and shot a little. Most of the blueing loss is on the bottom of the receiver and the adjacent wood is well worn.

I had one of those years ago. I bought it used from the LGS and it had a scope on it. I only kept it for a few years as it was too expensive to feed and I wasn't even hunting yet at that point. It was a beautiful rifle though.

It is an expensive rifle to feed and you can’t find ammo just any old place. I got a few boxes at $30 per and I’ve seen them at $40 per. I’ll reload them with cast lead bullets for practice.

Here are the pics per request:

Oh I’m set from a reloading standpoint, got a set of dies for my press, some powder coated cast .32 boolits and am GTG.

If you have .32 win special brass I’d gladly buy it or swap some brass for it. I have plenty of 9mm, 45ACP and 357 mag brass around.

found it 20 pcs.... no charge let me know

35 pieces of brass here, along with 77 Hornady .321" dia. 170g FP bullets.

I believe there are some .32 Remington reloads in my stash; these may have a suitable bullet to use in the .32 WS, too.

Good read, thanks. I bought 500 powder coated lead boolits so hopefully I can work up a load sufficient to plink with since factory ammo is bit dear. I did find a local gun shop with a supply of Hornady LeverEvolution ammo at $26.50 per box which I consider reasonable.

Nice.

If that was for sale, I would think about buying it. I have a fondness for firearms built in 1949.
