Ammo Bunker annouced a 20% sale (with membership) through 2-16-13. Great offering if you're looking at a large purchase (ammo included?). Of course the issue is how quickly can they get what you want (& at what price)

Derek .. how about adding this operation to the list of dealers - really good guys (Mike & Joe).

Just don't try to get any information from them as to what they have and for how much via email. Also, if you live in NH and don't have a MA LTC, forget about buying from them. IMO, paying $175 for a membership, even if I still lived in MA for such a place wouldn't be in the cards. I'm not about to drive to a place that far away (from when I lived in MA, or now) without knowing what they have and for how much.

More "cold wet towel of reality"...

I'm not going to apologize for giving a reality check on the place. I did contact them before wanting to know what they had for ammo to feed my AR and got a rather snooty reply. They said they only had 'high end ammo' that I would probably not want... WTF?? Tell me what you have, biotch, and let ME decide if it's something I want. Doesn't really matter since you can't buy ammo in MA without the LTC it seems. Doesn't matter if you live in another state where you CAN buy ammo without any special .gov permissions.

Sorry but you have to be a card carrying member of the Nanny State Club. Trust me we are much better off because the rest of the nation is our oyster.

Yeah... I can buy from any online source I want. I'm not about to spend $175 to get a discount on already over-priced ammo. Besides, I have 500 rounds of .223 coming (should be here tomorrow)... [smile] That will put me to over a thousand (finally)...

so it's pay $175 to get unknown ammo at unknown price?

Ok, how about you guys join my own ammo buy club. Pay me only $150 and I'll give you %50 discount on ammo from my stash [laugh]

Hey listen, Jackass, I couldnt give a shit who you are, where you live, and how may rounds of ego you have. It's a PSA - nothing more, nothing less.

And for the record, I have zero interest in the place other than the fact the guys that work there are great guys.

Someone I know went there and there is a curtain before you walk into the shop. The clerk opens the curtain and brings you into the back. Yeah no thanks.

Sounds fishy. I have to buy a membership to buy ammo? No thanks.

Yeah, sounds a little fishy, but has anyone been there? I bought a membership to MFL back in 2009ish to get a better price on rentals and ammo. I've never heard of this place until just now. A membership fee is a good way to get some probably much needed capital up front, for a new business. Barnes & Noble does the same thing. Before everybody shits on these " really good guys ", someone should go check'em out. I plan on going to FS Saturday after work, then before I go over to MRA, I'm going to stop here and check the place out.

Maybe not then. Al, why didn't you post this earlier, sounds like the Wizard of Oz, or a brothel.

I'll out myself here, since Al was gracious enough not to. There is a black curtain you must pass through. If you're old enough to remember those VHS rental stores, you'll remember some had the porn in the back, behind a curtain. Sorta like that, I almost felt dirty.[rofl]

As long as happy ending provided, I'll gladly paid for membership. For $195, I'll get a single stage press and still have money for a set of carbide dies. You get unlimited supply of ammo.

I not sure how this work? Shouldn't your good guys applied for a dealer membership for this forum before you get your own operation here? Maybe Mike & Joe can get a laptop, buy some coffee at Starbuck (free wifi) and sign up for a membership here. Do pass this info to your good guys.

Yup, I don't like outting people without their knowledge about it, especially friends. But yeah after you told me about your experience here I felt like I needed a shower.

for what ever the fee is to be a "member" i had better get a god damned blumpkin every time i roll in. for those of you who have no idea what a blumpkin is, urban dictionary is your friend [laugh]

Me too. I felt like I should have been wearing a raincoat and black socks. No offense to these guys, but having to pass thru a black curtain kind of gives me bad juju.

I want to know about after you went through the black curtain. Maybe you can save me a trip, tell us about your experience, spill it!

3. Blumpkin
A cocktail tribute to the time-honored tradition of receiving oral sex while defecating:

* In a porcelain bowl mix 1oz vodka and 1oz creme de cacao over ice.
* Float in two to three Tootsie Rolls
* Garnish with several kernels of corn
* Top with a blast of whipped cream
Those blumpkins were delicious, but we should wait at least 20 minutes before we have another.

I've been there twice. They had 9mm and 7.62x39 when 4 Seasons didn't. It feels more hunting oriented than 4S without being fuddy. I probably wouldn't buy that membership at that price though; don't really shoot enough to justify it.

I went there a few weeks ago, it used to be a wine store and I think the wine store owners are opening the firearm store. They had a little bit of everything, the prices were high and the owner/worker was blissfully ignorant about firearm laws e.g. would not inbound transfer a pre-1998 glock.

There transfers are only $25 which is a good deal.

With Four Seasons and Collectors so close by, not sure how these guys will survive. I'll go in a buy targets or ammo a few times to help them get started...

Chris

I have been there twice as well. There is a soon to be gone wine shop in the front of the store. With that said their windows are not boarded up like the rest of the shops in Mass and I believe that is why the have the curtain. With supplies as limited as they are these day the shop seem to be doing their best to get some inventory. I believe if you bought a used gun last month the gave you a free membership. The membership is optional you and you do not have to belong to purchase ammo. I purchased a few boxes and the non discounted price seemed average to everywhere else. I also thought the membership gave 20% of any purchase not just ammo but I maybe wrong.

I walked around the parking lot looking for this place. Do they have a sign yet? I did see the wine place. I thought it looked weird. I guess because they had all kinds of boxes and stuff laying around. It didn't look like a wine dealer. I was weary to go in and check it out.

They're taking over the wine shop. They have good capital but of course it's not easy building inventory right now. These are the people who ran Roach's Sporting goods in Cambridge so they already have relationships with distributors and suppliers. . Unfortunately they liquidated their inventory when they closed Roach's.
The membership is not required. It's simply an option you have available. 10% all year long. Apparently 20% this week. The prices are decent and with the discount they are obviously a little better. When they first opened they were offering the membership for $75. I
The last time I was in there their ammo prices were lower than any other shop in Woburn. Then it was 10% off of that. My membership has already paid for itself. I must be an idiot.

Needs to be a MA Resident LTC. the NR LTC doesnt allow for buying ammo. This state is stupid.

Guys the place is fine and the staff seem nice.

I went in there about a month ago and they used to be the a wine shop...
The front of the shop still had wine in racks, which seemed odd to me but they may have just been in the process of transitioning that inventory out.The back room where the gun store is located is separated from the front by a curtain.

They have limited assortment of ammo in stock (9, 40, 45, 38, 380, 22 etc.) and some accessories including targets, holsters, range bags and clothing. The gun case had limited new and used guns, pistols no revolvers... the owner mentioned the he was still waiting of inventory which he had on order. He had a few shotguns but no AR's. They tried to sell me on the club discount program but I wasn't interested. FS is still the best deal in town but this guy had 9mm ammo when FS didn't...whatever, I hope he makes it.

Ammo Bunker isn't much better... I actually got a reply to the email I sent earlier, asking for more info about what they have to feed an AR15...

"We only have top end rounds of 5.56. ($20 plus per box for 20 rounds). I think we have maybe 20 boxes of it."

I hope those are the super-killy, self guided, tactical nuke rounds there. Especially at $1/round. Even with the 20% discount, provided they actually HAVE any when you get there, it's beyond what's reasonable.

Sounds gay, going through a curtain to purchase ammo. How special do you need to feel as a gun owner / ammo distributor? It's only ammo.
