has anybody bought/had anything made by alumagrips for their 1911. I was thinking about getting a set of black checkered grips with the 1 inch smooth circle with the S&W logo Etched in the Circle for my new S&W 1911. I was just wondering if there was any experience with their products from anybody here.

Along a different note, is changing a mainspring housing to one with a magwell easy enough for a layman to do, or is that something with all the srings that it can go wrong and should be left to a professional?

Thanks guys.

I got a pair of alumagrips for my Delta Elite. They fit well. Appearance is really a personal taste thing. I think they look good, but I do wish the "black" color was a little darker.

I agree with Supermoto, changing the MSH is easy provided you have a punch. Also, make sure that you transfer the mainspring from your old MSH to your new one. You can guess how I figured that out...
