Alright I need help finding a backpack

Not a one strap bag and a fairly large bag. However this Mobile Edge brand bag is the best backpack I have ever owned -- great quality construction, padded frame-like back, comfortable padded starps, large protective padded laptop pocket, and a lifetime warranty. I have used mine practically every day for nearly 7 years and it is still as good as new. I will assume they are still made to the same high standard.

So another point I probably should've mentioned is I have a backpack that is ugly as sin and bright f***ing orange but its under armor. It's nice and was company provided aka fo free. So I'm not gunna buy another two strap bag just to have one when my ugly as orange one does the trick

Why not go with a classic...

I've got a nice Blackhawk backpack a friend gave me. I use it for work, carry my lunch, change of clothes, books, whatever I need for the day.
For range / hiking / camping, I gave up on a new bag. I think they're all too complicated, expensive and suck. I went to the surplus store and got a medium ALICE pack without the frame - perfect, just like always. I guess Alice knew I'd come back to her, Molly can't hold a candle to the first one I humped.

I've had a Northface Surge 2 backpack for several years now. I'm not a backpack expert but to me the thing is a beast. I load it up with all types of crap, chuck it around, sometimes carry it on one shoulder, and it still looks like new. Very comfortable and the straps are durable.

It also managed to fit my old enormous bulky 17" laptop in the padded protective compartment and zip completely shut. It doesn't look it but it can fit a ton of crap. Not a single strap but I highly recommend it.

5.11 rush 24 is my daily work bag. does everything I need lots of great compartments and can easily and comfortably hold 50lb of bricks in it for a length of time.

For a light day pack/water pack I would as go ospre as they are super light weight good for hiking

For "dad' stuff if you have little ones and need to tote their stuff around my favorite is the maxpedition sling bags. Can easily conceal your CCW in the back if your into off body carry. PLenty big to hold most stuff but not so large its a waste of storage.

AKA "Blow Out Bag" - emergency diapers!

I read these threads about what should I wear and all I can think about is more of these needed to be handed out

i really miss my external frame pack from the 70's. A Kelty if i remember. I could load and engine block onto that thing and carry it up a mountain.

I'm actually trying to find a decent pack for use on the motorcycle. One that can be easily attached on the sissybar and sit on the luggage rack. Unfortunately there aren't many backpacks that are designed for that. Most are just bags with backpack straps that look uncomfortable as hell to walk around all day with. I guess I'll have to keep half-assing it with this...http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GZGESGO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Have you considered a low profile hard shell?
