Was able to find a steel plate from a fellow NESer.
Hey guys, any chance does anyone have a piece of granite that's roughly 12x12, roughly 2 inches thick. I would also be interested in a steel plate of 12x12, but thinner of similar weight. 15+ lbs.
I just took ownership of a wicked edge knife sharpener. I couldn't bring myself to spend $85 for an aluminum plate or $150 for the granite. I can easily make one out of wood with scraps, and some steel shot to weigh it down. I could also grab a granite slab from Woodcraft for $53. It's 9x12 but good enough.
Figured I would ask if anyone has any pieces of granite or steel close to this shape. If it's not exactly that, no big deal I can cut it down if need be. Let me know what you have and what you want for it.
