AK drum mag info

I recently traded with a friend for a drum magazine for my AK. The Drum I got is all black, open in the rear ,has a carry handle and has the number 396 in an oval circle. MY buddy claims its a preban chinese drum. I cant find any information about it. any help or onformation is appreciated. I will try to post a picture later.

yes it would be a pre-ban Chinese drum. The 396 is the factory that it was made in. They are good drums, you can load them and when you need them you can wind them up and use them.
