Probably one of my favorite Sandler movies.

Grew up in Manchester, has no chip on his shoulder, self-depreciating, good guy, kind to others, moderate R.

    It's Hollywood, that's like a miracle.

    Delicious sandwiches there.

Sandler, I think, signed some sort of stupid-lucrative Netflix deal to keep churning out movies. I actually like his recent stuff.

My daughter and her husband are out to dinner tonight for their anniversary at Pellana in Danvers. Apparently Adam Sandler is dining there too.

I’ve liked him for a long time but the last few Netflix movies are unwatchable.

He's okay as long as he doesn't do the stupid voice. I could never stand Jerry Lewis for that same reason.

I love Mike's sandwiches. We were roommates 20 years ago.

Sandler had some sort of comedy show on Netflix. Wife and I attempted to watch, but it was terrible.

When my youngest son was in high school a few years ago he and his buddies were in the Mashpee Commons and they ran into Sandler. He took pics with them and cracked some jokes. Because of that he's ok in my book (Sandler was with his family but was still very cool with these guys and had a few minutes for them). Waterboy and Happy Gilmore are worth a watch as far as I'm concerned. Big Daddy and Mr. Deeds weren't bad either. His movies are ok for a few hours of shutting off the brain time IMO and there's nothing wrong with that.

i don't think i've seen a sandler film, not big on modern comedies. i might have to check him out. when he did that chanukah song many years ago i thought that was amusing. it still makes me smile when i hear it. thankfully it only comes on once a year or it would have worn out it's welcome.

he seems to be fan friendly from the several comments here. jeeze, even i know someone who stumbled into him, i think somewhere in europe, but i can't be more specific. i'd call bullshit but the family has several photos documenting the occasion and a few signatures. i think the man may sign anything thrust in his face. refreshing his attitude towards his fans, very cool.

Same here. He always reminded me of a certain a55hole draftee I knew in Basic Training. By the end of basic, everybody hated him, and we laughed when he got orders
    to cook school!

I've heard that at least in the past he would bring groups of kids to Puritans Backroom in Manchester. Friend was there for one such visit. Great mudslides....but Dem ownership.

I liked Happy Gilmore and Big Daddy. Anger Management and Mr Deeds was pretty funny but the former would not have worked without Jack Nicholson.

He was funny. Was. His CDs were awesome back in the day. I watched his recent standup on Netflix...same as his old stuff. He hasn't grown as a comic. Probably because he's been making the hack movies with his Netflix deal.

All I remember about Zohan is that smokin hot Canadian Moroccan Sephardi Jewish chick Emmanuelle Chriqui. Schwing!

Happy Gilmore, Little Nicky, Billy Madison and Click were funny IMO. I can see how some people don't find him funny or repetitive. Seems like a good guy IRL.

That was a really funny Drew Barrymore movie. It also introduced the world to Bruddah Iz.

What a voice. His traditional funeral was the first I ever saw on national tv and not in a tv show/movie.

That is class. I think his movies are 50/50 and even the good ones you know you are getting the same formula and a few cringy laughs. But it is because of stuff like this that I don’t discourage my 13 yo from watching them. He seems like a really good guy. Good for him for making it work and not being a Hollywood ahole.

    Definitely The Water Boy.

Also: The Wedding Singer & Happy Gilmore were some real funny one IMHO.
