Hey folks:

Loaded some Accurate 2520 loads today and tried them out at 100yds... Went from 23.5g to 24.9g... 24.7 seems to be the best in my AR15 at about 2,700-2760fps.

This powder requires sight in of 10 Up and 5 Right.... at 100yds. whereas Varget at 24.9g only needs 8Up and 4 Right at 200yds... Wondering why the large discrepancy? Also wonder what the correction at 200yds would be for 2520 powder?

What gives? Is it the burn rate, or something else ... granted that the temp with the varget was about 70degrees and the temp this afternoon was only about 55 degrees...

Any suggestions? What sort of 2520 loads are others using for 100yds, 200yds and 300yds. in an AR15?

Thanks.

The elevation change is because of the temp difference. I wouldn't worry about the one click of windage.

Jon,

I think I'm all done with HP for the season until I get a .22LR upper for indoor practice. I'm not happy with my trigger and rear sight. So instead of frustrating myself in the cold dampness, I'm going to hold off on out door shooting until I have my weapon the way I want it.

When I get my new upper I'll let you know so we can meet for some practice.

Hope you're looking at White Oak Precision/Armament for your next comp. Upper!

I have a CZ 22 upper I have yet to try out. Will let you know how it goes...

New supply of Chinese AA 2520 came in and it is right on the money compared with the AA brand name stuff... 24.7g puts out about 2750-2780 fps with LC cases, Rem 7.5 primers and 69SMKs...

23.8g for 77SMKs... for my AR-15 anyhow...

Belly match 11/6 at Westfield, MA... 100 rounds, All Prone, $25 Entry...
any comers???
