I wet sanded mine in the sink. I was originally going to paint it but the end result was so good I left it naked.

What number grit sandpaper did you use? Just sand under running water?

I forget really? 1000 grit or finer? I may have started with 600.

Pretty much just ran it under water and sanded. Let it dry, see what areas needed more and do it again til it looked new
