A question on Awards and Decorations

When wearing ribbons, which has the higher precedence, the Purple Heart or the Bronze Star?

I seem to remember years ago that the Bronze Star was higher, but the other day a young National Guard member told me the Purple Heart was higher.

I checked that out first thing this morning, but this guy insisted he was right and told me it had changed. So I wondered if the Wikipidea was not up to date....

I guess what I should have done in the OP is ask if it had changed, and maybe current Military members would let me know if it did change.

The way I was taught to remember was that things you did were more important than things done to you.

22 years in the Army and I never did memorize all that stuff. I used to have to get the fold out poster from Soldier magazine or one of those other Army magazines just to keep from embarrassing myself. I never did much like garrison life. I much preferred a muddy hole in the ground to all that dress up nonsense.
