A perfect example of the weakening human race

I wonder why they weren't able to get a weapon over to them when they sent them food and water??

I do agree with your assessment though. Rescues are happening more and more with ill prepared hikers, campers etc.

They probably didn't figure they'd need weapons.

The hiker/camper thing is insane. We see it up here (Green Moutains and Adirondacks) more than you would believe. They just don't think ahead.

OK, the tender had supplies and weapons when it capsized. They obviously got the boat if they were able to use the spark plug to start a fire.

Is it just me, or did they forget a VERY important part of smal boat handling in rough water? TIE THE CARGO DOWN!

Sorry, but have no sympathy for boaters who lose their cargo like that.

And what about the good sense of having a gun strapped into a holster.

Sure, bigger is bettter, but a gun in hand beats one at the bottom of the sea!

Yeah, but how do you get the polar bear to hold still while you shoot it repeatedly with a handgun? [lol]

Nice riposte, sahib.

Touche!

By the way, Ross, how come when one posts several messages in a very few minutes, the post count thing doesn't register the new messages?

(Note the use of stunningly accurate software terminology)

Beats the heck out of me - I'm not a moderator!

However, have you noticed that your sig file, avatar and post count change on ALL your posts if you change any of them? And your post count is taken from your profile, it looks like, as ALL of your posts will now show 135 or thereabouts.

Ross

It's your total posts, not the sequential numbers.

I'm a vehicle maintenace puke and I know that!

(couldn't resist it, no offense intended)

Should have let the polar bears eat them. Does no one have common sense anymore? They are not cute cuddly TeddyBears! I wouldn't want to be around a griz unarmed either. Idiots.

Ya know Bugsy...you're a heck of a lot more fun on this forum than you EVER were in person. [lol] [lol] [lol] BTW - speaking of getting back to work...slow day? [wink]

One of the good things that we might seriously consider adopting from the Europeans: if you get rescued, you get a bill to go with it. You didn't think that the Swiss or Germans were going to do it out of the goodness of their hearts, did you? Might cause some of these asshats to think twice, or more likely file suit on the basis that they have a right to have somebody else take care of them.
