A Bunny for majspud

Saw that....originally it was an April Fools joke that some police department had hired a new officer. Flemish Giant would be more impressive.

Cat weighs 18 pounds.

Our newest rabbit looks just like that one. Netherlands Dwarf...2 pounds or so. 8E6B2F88-0DB6-4237-80E9-37F1F5404863.jpeg

Is that an eastern cottontail?
Yes
Rescued little bugger out of dog’s mouth probably 20 years ago when it was not much larger than a golf ball 😊
Couldn’t find where it came from and raised it until it was ready to fend for itself and let it go.
Little bagger kept coming by to say hi or for a treat for one season.

Oh that's so awesome! I have a little family of them in my backyard and they are not too skittish but not friendly yet. I would love to be able to hand feed one some day if they get more brave.

We have them in the yard as well and they do hang around whenever I’m in the chair, hopping over my feet as any other wildlife that has no problem hanging around with me.
Kids and wife jokingly call me Dr. Doolittle

Here’s some from my phone

All I have now in NW New Bedford is the odd cotton tail, and grey squirrel. Weirdly, also, very large garden slugs...middle finger size. My last house abutted a sanctuary; we had deer, turkey, and coyote regularly.

I have HUNDREDS of rabbits around me, which is a sign there are no Coyotes around.

When I hear the dogs going ballistic, it is a sure sign one (or more) is in "their" yard.

Every time we go for a walk it is an adventure, our 100 pound Black Lab pulled my wife over trying to get to one once.
