I have some 7.92x57 and I'm trying to figure out the bullet weight, velocity, etc.

The case is brass, there's a 12 and the production year ('53) on the headstamp, and the ammo is packaged in a cardboard box of 15 rounds. It's labeled in cyrillic but I can make out the work "metak", which turns out to mean bullet in Croatian. I'm figuring these are Yugo rounds?

It's the very common Yugo surplus. Berdan-primed, but reloadable if you acquire KV762N Tula (Murom) primers.
It has a 196ish grain projectile and probably has a square flaked powder. You'll have to run it over a chrony to get actual velocities.

And kind of a bear to pop the primers, if you even try to salvage this brass. Unless you're hard-pressed for 8mm brass, send it to the scrap bin.

Here's some other interesting 8mm (although these are 7.92x57R with .318" bullets):

The 'U' mark stands for Utendoerffer, Stadeln/Fuerth (Nuernberg area) who were acquired by 'Rheinisch-Westfälische Sprengstofffabriken a.k.a. RWS.

The cartridges in the 1st pic appear to be loaded with RWS TUG (Torpedo-Universalgeschoss).
