So I have a 67 Firebird I have had about 13-14 years.....I often go on kicks where I look at other cars...lately I have been obsessed with 65 Buick Rivieras......Just thought I would do a fun little hypothetical post about which car you would rather have if given the choice?

Bird all day every day. My best friend growing up and still today cut his teeth on its sister car the Camaro. Of course back then we ripped out the smoking 327 and dropped in a LT1.

F Body parts are readily available, and swapping in a new driveline is simple.

As much as I like the Riv, and I had a 71 455 4BBL TH400 12 bolt posi sleeper if you need body parts for it you might be up Schitt Creek.

A 4L80E is a nice transmission swap for the F body, a TH400 on steroids and an OD, so you can keep your 4.11 gears and still drive it on the highway, drop in something closer to 3.55 gears in a 12 bolt and you will still burn the tires off it and get low RPM's on the highway

The problem with dropping big HP into a F body, especially a ragtop is body rigidity/flex. Drop a LS-3 in there and make sure you have put subframe connectors and other bracing in. Chances are you are going to want an aftermarket front subframe for ease of installation.

A friend had a Buick 455 stuffed into a 68 Firebird.... it was a fun car

If you're cruising for tail, the Firebird.. Mostly because it's a '60s convertible.
If you want people to without a doubt believe you when you say you're going to end them, the Buick.

That first generation firebird is one of the sexiest car ever made.
67 Bird all they way. I had a 68, exact same except no Fly window and mine was a hard top.
The saddest thing is I only have one picture (circa 1983) of half of the car. My Mom took a picture of my Dad and my youngest brother next to his new Conquest TSI. You can see my 68 Bird next to my 71 Charger on the far left. I just realized the kid in the background is now the Boxford Chief of Police.

Are you seriously asking this? The Firebird!!

If you don't want it I'd gladly haul it away for you. You don't want some old car sitting in the yard, what would the neighbors think. I won't even charge you for hauling it away.... I'm just a nice guy. [laugh]
