Thanks to everyone that posted to help me choose which 642 to get. I ended up getting the non CT model and I've been to the range twice with it. Shot it at 22 and 35 feet with identical results, groups that are high and right. I used 148 LWC and 158 CPRN home rolled along with 100gr Fed Hydrashock and 125 Fed premium HP. They all shoot the same. I had someone else shoot it and he was not grouping so I can't tell if it is me or not. Here is a photo of a target at 35 feet. Do your 642's shoot high and right?

Have you shot the gun from a rest yet?

I'd start with that and go from there. If it hits where
it is supposed to from a rest at 20 ft (or less) then it's the shooter(s),
not the gun.

A gun like a 642 is difficult to shoot until you get used to
it and the trigger is broken in. It is very easy to jerk the trigger
off target, or "nurse" the gun in any number of directions while
shooting it. I also found that on j-frames in general I have to
cock my wrist slightly for the front sight to sit where it is supposed
to.

I practiced with it today and was having the same issue at 22 ft. I keep hitting around 3 oclock. I switched to single had and I was dead on. I must be doing something wierd with my support hand.
