Does anyone know how a larger caliber muzzle device (brake/compensator) will effect accuracy or anything else on a smaller caliber rifle? I'm building an AR that is threaded in 5/8-24 and I'm having trouble finding a muzzle device that will fit. AR Performance makes them (they made the barrel!) but they are all out of stock and have been for a while. I know many larger calibers use 5/8-24 but how will they work if used on a 223/556 barrel?
I'm not looking for crazy performance...in fact, I'm more concerned with it not being too loud and just finishing off the barrel.

These guys are great. I just put one on my .308 bolt gun, and I love it. It's louder than without, but not stupidly so.
I just checked, you can order with 5/8"-24 for .223. They take a couple of weeks to get it to you, but the quality is good, and they look mean.[mg]
