6.5 Grendel receiver questions

Been wanting to build a SPR for a while now, been reading a lot about 6.5 Grendel recently and think I may build my SPR chambered in 6.5 Grendel. Only problem is that while I know I can use a 5.56 AR lower for the 6.5 Do i need a special 6.5 upper? or can i pick up any AR-15 stripped upper and then install the 6.5 barrel bolt etc?

basically need to know if I have to make sure the upper is for 6.5 or if any stripped upper will work.

Any upper will do. I have shot another NES members Grendel and plan on building my own next year.

Yup on the any upper. I've buit 3 this year. But you may want to look at rainier arms, as they have a pretty good sale on grendel uppers right now.
