Can you convert a USGI AR magazine to 6.5 Grendel with a new follower?

I'm thinking I'd like to build a 6.5 Grendel AR, and I'd like to use my existing pre-ban mags if possible.

if you figure this out let me know. 10 rounders suck and hence i dont shoot the caliber as much as i would like.

I found 6.8 mags work very well. I remember reading about cutting and bending old mags to make work. But I wouldn’t recommend it. It didn’t cut easily for me.

What bits might one cut and bend?

At the front, to modify the feed lips. I’ll fire up my desktop and see if I can find it again.

best bet being in MA, would be to source 7.62x39 AR mags. (Parent case being PPC which also is 7.62x39) And it will function well.
