It was suggested a while back to start a thread for this build.
I bought a Glock 21S frame from minuteman armament at the mill. Bought a rock slide slide off eBay. Trijicon HD XR sights in yellow from optics planet. A TLR6 laser light combo I bought for a P80 but it didn’t fit the frame. So it’s going on this build. The 460 Rowland conversion order was placed on Juneteenth. Called last week and it’s still a ways out for delivery. They said 4 to 8 weeks. Here are the pics so far. Not much to really say. Just parts right now.

I did some 45 Super with a G21 a while back, and the only issue I had was playing with different recoil springs until it ran well. Tried heavier and heavier springs until it wouldn't lock back, and then backed off one. Does the conversion come with the appropriate mainspring? Unfortunately, I don't have all the springs I didn't use anymore. Once I got a G20, I stopped messing around with the 45 super.

Can't wait to see what you think of the Rowland - keep us posted, please!

I was surprised when I bought the Frame I didn’t need my LTC pin #. When I have to register the gun. (Yes I’m in Ma.). Rules and all. I haven’t looked at the form. Do I still put the dealer I bought from. Or do I just say it’s personally built firearm?

Funny I posted Wednesday. 4 months. Got an email today. Shipping confirmation. Thinking Wednesday it will arrive. Range test next weekend

I was just talking about a buddies 1911 460 Rowland conversion last night. I know nothing about the round but it's cool you're doing it with a Glock. He had some crazy compensator off the end of his Gov't 1911 that he appendix carried 😳

The Glock will have the compensator too. They say its required and part of the conversion.

Received the conversion today. Had to fit it a little. Had company so I only got to do a little with it. But it’s good and so cool. Will follow up in the next few days.

Parts. And preliminary assembly. Will explain the modifications I had to do later.

It’s finished. Shot it over the weekend. Scared the S#!t out of me the first shot. 30 rounds and 2 days later and my hand still hurts.
So when I put the barrel on first time everything was locked up. Wasn’t sure I was going to get it back off. Finally got it off. Took some measurement and the square/ rectangle part of the slide was pretty much size to size with the slide. It aftermarket rock slide. I filed a couple thousandths off the backend off the barrel and the front part of where it goes into the slide. Problem solved. Hand cycled a couple of mags through it. Finally got to the range. This weekend. It’s the most powerful hand gun I own. It’s heavy. And kicked hard. I’m shooting mostly low and left. I think it’s me. Just flinching at the power. Going to have a couple of others shoot it to se if they have the same thoughts.
To be continued.
Oh. The only other problem I had was in 30 rounds. I only had one failure to chamber. But it was the bullet cocked in the magazine.

No I have only shot it once. I don’t have a chrono. I’m also waiting on a email back from Rowland. After further inspection after the first shoot. I found the guide ride and spring to be about .060 shorter than the other 3 guide rods I have for a G21. It will fall out as I try to put the slide back on unless I hold it upside down.

The guide rod on the left is factory. The one on the right is aftermarket. And the one in the middle is the Rowland.

Still waiting on a response from Rowland about the guide rod.
Went shooting with my Stepson tonight. As I suspected low and left was mostly me. Both of us shot a little low and left but with in a couple inches of the bullseye. He suggested a little difference in the way I’m pulling the trigger and it straightened out a bit for me. Moved the target out to 40’. And put three in the bullseye. Tried a couple different 45 in it and only had a couple failure to feed.
Over all very happy with the build. I do think it’s going to beat the hell out of the frame.

Another update. Rowland still did not get back to me. I also did some checking of 2 other G21 barrels. They milled the pocket for the guide rod on the locking lug to deep. So that combined with the shorter guide rod makes it fall out. I played around with some other guide rods that sit better. And I’m thinking a uncaptured guide rod with there spring might be the way to go. Honestly it does not seem to affect the operation but it just is an annoying thought
