.44 magnum reloading question

I've been reloading .44 magnums for a while now with my dads "mild" recipe...240gn lswc, and 8.0gn of unique powder. I was looking through the lee's reloading manual and noticed they recommend a starting load of 6.2 grains with a never to exceed of 7.0. Is this a mistake? Seems pretty low to me...

I just found the same thing but that was with a swaged lead bullet. With a cast lead bullet, the max. was 11 grains.
