Step it up to .22 over 20 and you can include big game, too. Killed a lot of partridge, quail, and mule deer with my old 24C. I miss it.
I’ve got one of those also. Effective range of about 6 feet. Mine is the shorter barrel model though.Yes...
Bond Arms | Snake Slayer
Our most popular model is the perfect protection for hikers, campers, fishermen and others that enjoy the great outdoors. Its chambered to fire both .357 Mag and .38 Special rounds, (also available in .45 Colt / .410).www.bondarms.com
Sweet guns. Had a .30-.30 with a 16" barrel. Frickin deerslayer. Get off the shot, mash the ejector thingamajig right next to the hammer, little flip to eject the shell, slip in the next round (just in case--never needed a second shot) and close her all up in less time than it took Fred to unshoulder his super-scoped bolt action 30 caliber mega-farm-boy Thunderbolt Special.Single shot H&R made in MA. Awesome little full choke gun. Ejector is awesome too
Does .410 even have an effective range? I have the longer barrel, so I guess my effective range is +3/4"I’ve got one of those also. Effective range of about 6 feet. Mine is the shorter barrel model though.
I’m in the process of rehabbing one of these (Stevens 22/410). Old tenite stock was KO’d so I bought a replacement wood stock set for a Savage24 that needs to be adjusted to work.
I thought both companies were long gone. No?I think NEF (New England Firearms) guns are essentially the same gun. They're cheap enough--buy one!
I have no idea. I think at one time one company bought the other, and the guns are much the same except for the forestocks. I loved my H&R, and recently bought a couple NEFs because they looked like the same thing with a different name.I thought both companies were long gone. No?
have two of them and shoot skeet with both. One is a Tri-Star side by side. The other is the Henry side gate and have shot trap, 5 stand and sporting clays with it. Get some funny looks at first, but I can stand with the guys using 12 gauge just fine. Get one, you will enjoy it. The only real issue is the ammo. Expensive and hard to find. Re-loading will be your friendWho owns one? Do you use it often?
Seems like a fun gun to have while creek fishing, just in case I stumble onto a grouse, or a marmot.
I think it went from H&R to NEF then Marlin bought them. Then RemingtonI have no idea. I think at one time one company bought the other, and the guns are much the same except for the forestocks. I have a Henry lever 410....the longer barrel version that takes chokes. It's a fun squirrel getter and fun to shoot trap with every now and then.....it draws attention on the trap range especially when I break over 20 with it which I do many times.Who owns one? Do you use it often?

Henry make a simple break action as well. Some nice wood on these shotguns too. Maybe too heavy for what you want.Well, my question is answered.
Savage makes a simple break action. Remove the barrel and slip the gun into a backpack. Might have to pick one up.
Because they can.......its low volume.I bought my wife a used HR 410, one of the first guns I ever shot. She's convinced that I bought it for myself so she doesn't use it. Why is the ammo so darn expensive?
