Except perhaps for getting the largest caliber possible when qualifying for you RI permit renewal. I cannot carry a fifty in that state.

So in RI, whatever caliber you qualify with would be the maximum caliber you may carry?

That's f***ing stupid. The other stupid thing about RI qualification is the shooting portion is I believe 25 yards... yeah, cuz if someone is 25 yards away from me and threatening me instead of running, I'm going to pull out my LCP and shoot at him.

I swear Rhode Island is the dumbest state populace in the country.
