What is a "normal" price for 50 rounds of .357 mag? I got two boxes of 158grn hollowpoints for $17 each from Collectors when I bought my GP100. Since then the only 158grn I've seen has been $50 a box for soft points, or $30 at Dicks for the same stuff.

This is IN. SANE.

Am I unrealistic here? Help me decide what to pay and what not because I'm new to this caliber.

Typically I can find 158g .357 for anywhere from $17.00 to $24.00 for a box of 50.00. I bought a box of S&B 357 158g at Blue Northern a couple of weeks ago. It was maybe $22.00. Mostly I shoot my own reloads. I keep some factory loads around for carry ammo and I buy a box now and again for the fresh brass. 158gr LSWC and Plated bullets are easy to get at Collectors or Northshore. Primers are impossible to find.[frown]
